Get Involved
The InTeGrate project hinges on active participation from faculty across the country. There are many avenues for participation, such as joining a curriculum development team, testing newly developed materials, applying for a grant to make innovative use of curricular materials, or attending a workshop. These types of involvement mirror the structure of the InTeGrate Program, consisting of three program elements:
- Creating Teaching Materials and Examples of their Use active 2012 - 2014
- Incorporating geoscience throughout the curriculum active 2014 - 2016
- Professional Development Workshops active 2012 - 2016
Apply to author modules and courses that integrate engineering, sustainability, and the geosciences
There is a call for authors to propose new undergraduate-level teaching materials and model courses that integrate engineering, sustainability, and geoscience. See the Call for Proposals if you are interested in applying. The application deadline is July 15, 2013.
Apply to Assist with the Assessment Effort
The Geoscience Literacy Exam (GLE) probes concepts elucidated in recently released Earth, ocean, atmosphere, and climate science literacy documents through a suite of questions that address core content areas at the understand- or apply- level as well as more challenging questions that involve analysis. We seek faculty that are willing to pre/post test their students with existing GLE questions, assist the team in developing new questions, and to help the team build a computer-gradable essay question database by scoring essay responses. If you are interested in contributing to this effort, please respond to the call for assessment assistance.
