Learning and Assessing Science Process Skills
Constance Stewart Sprague, Richard J Rezba, Ronald L Fiel, James R Okey, H. James Funk, Harold H Jaus 1995 Kendall/Hunt Publishing Company
This book is designed to help teachers know how to develop necessary science knowledge and skills in their students. The book is to be used individually or in groups by preservice and inservice teachers. Each chapter in the first half of the book has a materials list, a justification for the exercise, goals, and performance objectives. They also contain activities to develop the skill described in that chapter, a self-assessment, and an example of how teachers can assess students in this skill. The chapters in the second part of the book cover skills instead of activities. Decision-making chapters are included to enhance the readers' teaching of process skills. The book includes an appendix with materials and equipment that can be used for learning and assessing science process skills.
