This paper summarizes many studies that have been conducted on classroom response systems (CRS) in large lecture halls. The summaries indicate that CRS can draw out students' knowledge, maintain student attention, and create opportunities for meaningful engagement. This technology can assist instructors in assessing student comprehension and developing classroom activities that all for the application of key concepts to practical problems.
