Webinar Description

The Next Generation Science Standards includes a significant focus on sustainability, through standards focused on human impacts on Earth Systems, climate change, natural hazards and natural resources. We will hear from three different sustainability-focused NGSS initiatives. Kathryn Baldwin will introduce the Education for Sustainability framework being used for teacher preparation in Washington State, Jerri Birkofer will describe use of NGSS within a place-based environmental justice module, and Ellen Metzger and Eugene Cordero will describe NGSS-aligned curriculum and professional development with the Green Ninja project.
